My 2007 Sonata was built in October 2006. The window Sticker says it is a SE. Whenever I take it in for service, the paperwork from the dealer lists it as a 2007 Sonata GLS. When I bought the car in January of 08 it was one of the last New 2007's on the lot. Being wary of that ,I had a carfax record check done. It came back showing the car as a SE Limited. I wish I had a 2007 sales brochure. can anyone shed some light on this????

I still don't know the trim levels as well as say...Cherokees (I can tell you the year/trim of most any Jeep Cherokee  ) But if I'm not mistaking, don't the GLS's typically have a solid color accent on the dash, SE's typically have a carbon-fibre look, and Limited have a wood grain look. This seems to hold true with the few I've seen around, but I'm still a bit new to Hyundai's and all :innocent:

I have the wood grain on the dash and shifter. According to the VIN decoder listed on this forum it shows it's a SE but it shows no coding for a 2007 limited.

Do you have leather, heated seats, premium wheels, automatic climate control? Than it's limited.. otherwise - SE.

Whats the main difference between the SE and Limited. I have leather, heated seats, digital climate control, sunroof and I had the 5 spoke 17 inch wheels.. Oh and the car came with the chrome door handles

I could never figure out what mine was haha

My 2006 LX also shows up as a GLS. Here are the U.S. Models for 2007

The real AND most important question is.....what does your insurance company classify it as? Just in case it gets stolen....totaled...or so. :whistling:

State Farm classified mine as a GL when I knew and everyone else knew it was a GLS. 06 GLS for those referring to Miami's snippet. I corrected them.

its either an SE or a Limited... in the US, the V6's were only those 2 trim levels for the 07 model year... so as someone else mentioned, unless you have leather seats, you have the SE...

my '06 V6 is listed as GLS/LX to signify the V6... yours is listed as SE/Limited to signify the same...

There was a GLS, SE and Limited for 07. The GLS replaced the GL, the SE the GLS, and the Limited the LX.

I don't see what the problem is...If your sticker says SE, then it's an SE. I could see the dealer making a mistake and definitely carfax, but I doubt Hyundai would.
Here is an easy way to figure it out. If you have a 6 cyl without leather then it's an SE.

One thing for sure is that you don't have a GLS.

Se and limited can be told apart by the fancy door sill plate cant it? SE's dont have them, limited do. VIN decoder likely will not shed much light. http://sonata.jerrystout.us/tsb/vin_decoder.pdf

My Sonata is a 2007 (build date of 09/06) Limited and it says Sonata Limited V6 on the Malroney sticker and it has a chrome plate on the deck lid that says LIMITED.
