I was looking over at a posted link and found a set of Interior LED set for the Santa FE ( 07 and over).

They seem pretty cool and not too expensive. Its 99 dollars with shipping and handling and it includes 2 map lights, middle light and, rear light.
(i emailed them they said they do express delivery for an additional 25 dollars)

What you guys think of these? Anyone here bought an LED set before?

$60 cheaper than same stuff from another dealer I have bought a sunroof control from KSPEC and very pleased at the results, fit just like OEM part works fine so far. If you do get them curious if the LED's dim as the regular lamps in the front map light, I dont think they will as the electrical charaistics of LED's make them either on or off. please post results on how easy to install and pictures

Steve,

LEDs will rise and fall in brightness according to voltage applied just as a regular incandescent bulb will.

I have LEDs installed in my 07 Azera and 07 Santa Fe.

Yeah i'll double check to see if the lights dim, but yeah i think they will.

Actually LEDs are controlled by the current applied to them. You need a certain voltage drop and a way to control the current. The best way to dim a LED is using pulse width modulation, although they will dim somehow with the car system as the voltage drop will mean less current. Those you buy probably use the "cheap" way to control a LED by a resistor, maybe a diode and some cap. It is not the best way at all but it will do the job.

Looks like you didn't pass electronics class. Sorry! You do not apply current to anything! Basic Electrical 101. Current is what happens when something consumes power. Current is a direct result of the voltage and resistance. Ohms law E over I times R. Just F.y.i.

Looks like u got some problems understanding what u read, looks like u din't pass your reading courses when u were a kid? : "You need a certain voltage drop and a way to control the current" CONTROL THE CURRENT. U can do that as u like, the cheap way via a resistor or the nice way with a driver. Even more, you can through there a current source to apply whatever current u need, in this case an auto-resonant half bridge configuration would be good enough for the power required.

"Current is what happens when something consumes power" ??????? That is funny :P U dont remenber ur nice formula for power?? actually u should clarify if u talk about dc power or AC power(aparent, reactive or real) just to throug in the formula other needed variables.

Current, and pay attention in your next 101 is the consequence of electrons movement due to a potencial difference!!

If u wanna talk about electronics, go for it, but for the good stuff, u know buck-boost DC-DC for LED driving, lets disscus about best fitted switched configurations in order to optimize losses in automotion designs, u know, lets talk about transient thermal impedance problems or even get into the design blocks an discuss about zero-pole n' transfer functions design, lets see how u apply there your 101 Ohms Law. Pinpin.

Feel free to send me a private message (so we dont bother the other forum members) to discuss anything u want about power electronics and analog or digital control. Will be interesting for sure!

School is definitely out on that one....

The set looks nice but i'm wondering how those front lights are going to fit. I took apart my front overhead light once and has a different configuration then the pictures show on that website, it appears to be a Sonata, but ours has a bulb holder (for size 168/194 bulbs) that angle down and out the holes.

Heres a picture to understand.

I just finished installing the LED Set, i must say they look SWEET!!

The front set wasn't as bad as i thought, on the actual bulb set it said " New Santa Fe" though on their website it did say sonata. Also they were a BIT tight to put on, when i actually put the clear covering plate they touch the LED's a BIT, but nothing really to worrie about. The mid light and rear took litteraly like 1 min each to install.

Also their not just one bulb replacment, their actually entire kit, so it lights up A LOT. their really nice.

I ordered them through their express service so got them in 2 days, awsome! total cost $124 with express delivery. (shipped from south korea to NJ)

Here are some pics:

Out of the Postage

Front Lights Off - I had to remove the 2nd Plate inside to fit the lights in, because their a set not just one bulb, but still look awsome imo.

Middle Lights Off

My Car :)

Also The lights DO dim when you lock/close the car :)
Heres a video: (******i recorded it through my camera phone so the extension will be kinda werid, i used quick time(6.5+) to play it i don;t know if any other players will work.****) I zipped them up.

P.S: i will post night lights when it gets dark :)
