Normally such things would not bother me at all but I am planning on upgrading my stereo and I would like to be able to hear my alarm going off. I have triggered the panic alarm while in bed and I can barely hear it going off.
Has anyone replaced the stock horn in this vehicle? If so, where did you find the replacement?
Thanks

Any idea what voltage the horn uses? 6 or 12?

all of my previous cars ive owned, i have installed air horns... my dodge colt, i put in my first set of horns and they were short trumpets, so higher pitched...
the ones i liked better, the longest trumpet was about 11-12 inches long... a bit deeper tone... was concidering putting a train horn in it for the scare factor! but the compressor and air tank you need to run it is huge...
still concideing the train horn..... now where is that web site i saw about those, had some funny videos too..............................

lol I just changed mine ... I'll try to post a video sometime today. Very easy to do.. I have 2 horns on mine actually, one for the alarm system , and one for the horn. The horn is under the front grill, I had to cut the wire and just install the new horn with the female connectors supplied. I got this one here http://www.fiammamerica.com/Product.asp?ProductID=156 the sound on the site is more high pitch, mine is low pitch. Sounds more aggresive and a bit louder than stock. Took me 20 minutes to change ... but I undid both not knowing I had 2 horns lol.

Thanks for the info. Did you have an aftermarket alarm installed in your car or are you saying that the vehicle comes from the factory with two horns?

The SR comes with factory alarm system, I don't know for other models. I had one horn on passenger side, right under the windshield washer refill thingy. Thats the alarm system one.

the sport comes with the same alarm system. i wasn't feeling very productive today, so one of the things i wasted time on was researching low cost air horns for cars & listening to sample sound bits. from my 1/2 day of pissing around, i've determined that so far the best value for money and sound and ease/location of installation is the wolo challenger ec 809. it has a direct drive 12v compressor - no air tank needed - and ec means it's designed to mount in the engine compartment vs. on the roof. they can be had for around $120+ shipping click here to listen to it: http://www.wolo-mfg.com/808-809-stereo.wavIF i waste money on a horn, i think this would be my choice.

I just got the one you listed and the low note horn (2 horns, one was E and the other was F (High and low tone) and installed them on my accent. WOW what a difference. It was hard to want to honk at someone, and then remember that I had a bicycle horn that they wouldn't hear anyway. These are $19.99 a piece at Pep Boys.
