I have a 2008 Sonata GLS and have had virtually no problems with it. This latest is vexing, though. For the first time since I've had it, I inadvertently ran the battery down recently. Since then, 2 strange things have happened. The first is that now the car automatically locks itself as soon as I turn the key on; I realize this is a safety feature and was told it was supposed to do that - but in the 8 years and 90K miles I've had the car, it never did it once - until now.
The second is more annoying: both my key fobs immediately stopped working. As it's both of them and it was instant, I don't think it's the key fob batteries but related to the car's computer and the dead battery. The dealer can reprogram BUT it might cost as much as $100 if they insist on running a system check.
Does anyone know a way to do this on your own? Such as having the car running or just turned to accessories and pushing the buttons on the fob in a certain way?
