3 days ago my 01 Elantra started idling high when I depres the clutch (rolling, stopped, etc, or in neutral) varying between 1200 and 3000 RPM.

Autozone found a 0507 error High Idle. They mention that it may be the throttle control valve (@ $150). However when referencing this site, I came across several possibilities, like a vacuum leak. Problem, can't find the diagram. Can somebody please referance me to one as my local book store does not stock manuals anymore.

Thank you

For anyone getting the P0507 error, be sure to check your vacuum lines. I removed the black engine shroud and checked the pcv hose. Guess what, BIG hole in it. The end that connects to the PCV valve has a clamp, so be careful when removing. Getting hose and will update this afternoon. :)

Great news. It was in fact the PCV hose. Nothing quite like an 83 cent repair job. Purrin' like a kitten again.

 Gonna have me a celebratory brew.
