They probably won't have a short ram intake for the new Accents. And I wouldn't EVER count on any AutoZone guy to know what you're talking about. The only one I know of that you can buy ready to install in a kit is the Hyundai/AEM one.

people seem to be quite displeased with the weapon R's. do a search to see custom SRI ideas. One thing to keep in mind is that you need somewhere to mount your ECU because that is currently on the airbox that you're thinking of taking out.

People are displeased with the Weapon Rs because they are not made for the 06-up Accent. They are made for the 05 and older, therefore they don't fit right and they rattle and buzz. Like I said, the only kit I am aware of that you can simply take out of the box and install is the Hyundai/AEM intake.

There are a few people on here who have made their own, using some intercooler piping and a cone filter of your choice, but the problem is then you don't have anywhere to mount your ECU because it mounts to the stock airbox.

made a custom bracket like the rest of us. its really not hard to do. you can use anything ifyou put your mind to it. dont fret about the ecu mounts its called problem solving we can all do it... i think. lol you can buy individual pipes from a place called spectreperformance.com. there you can buy two 90* elbows and make sure ONE of them has a nipple on it for vaccum hose. from there you just need a filter of your choice.

as an idea for a mount, i used a piece of aluminum flat bar 1/8th inch thickx 3/4 inch wide and about 4inches long, i bended it half way to 90* to make an L shape, then i drilled a hole through one end th attach to the ecu then i mocked it in the engine bay and found a bolt hole that i could attach the home made bracket to. the i marked where to drill, put everything in works perfect. no issues with movment or catastrophic engine failure.

and btw guys, when the question is "what parts do i need" the answer isnt AEM. clearly he wanted to do a custom so show him where to buy the PARTS to build... sheesh! lol just buggin

This is my SRI from Autozone...

(IMG:http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/7288/1001191gp2.th.jpg)

a 45 and a 60 degree bend along with the cone filter and black rubber piece was around $70. Hope this helps.

I went with the AEM intake. It comes with the heat shield to mount the ECU on and it was so easy to install. On the Hyundai AEM it was seriously four steps and took me from start to finish, including prep, and clean up, like 30 minutes.

I actually have step by step pictures including a pic of the tools needed for this modification.

Here is the finished work.

AEM intake

Comes in blue and silver. Not sure if you can take the silver and paint it to a custom color.
