i vote for adium.

lol - i doubt anyone else here has ever even heard of it.

i rarely use it.

i do always have msn & icq open on my other computer.

sometimes i open adium on my macbook and it signs into both my msn and icq.

msn pretty well has msn contacts only on it, but i have aol contacts on my icq list, and adium supports all of the above plus about a zillion others.

:00000732: Hi! You must be new here... If you look down at the bottom of the screen, there is a search feature. By using it I was able to find this thread where this has been discussed before. :P

Sorry, I just had to do it. :460: lol!

i looked for it! i really did, i entered everything i could think of to have it come up in the search engine and nothing worked clearly you have more time on your hands to do a search like that.

I really don't have much time on my hands. You can find the thread by searching for 'chat' or 'msn'.

I know you said that... My whole post was sarcasm anyway, hence the :P 's, the :460: 's and the like... In light of all the newbies getting yelled at because they too searched for something and couldn't find it, so they created a new thread.. :57: I was just kiddin' man.

I used to use Yahoo a lot. I used to use ICQ but now i stick to AIM. Loading time is much quicker without 5 IM programs peeping at you when they try to load

If everyone had Adium or Trillian or their ilk it wouldn't matter what IM service people use. That's what I vote for.

IM's are free anyway. All someone would have to do is make one and anyone could make an account if they didn't already have one. It's a good idea, someone just make one and see where it goes.

I had setup a chat room (a real chat room, not an IM program) that was ad-free, bug free, etc., and nobody used it so I pulled it off. Granted, it wasn't as fancy as ones like IRC but it worked and was safe. :)
