um, i think it's safe to say that many others, myself included have debadged.

fishing line and a blow dryer heat her up and slide the line underneath.
i COULD post a pic, but it would safe me time if you could look at the back of your car and imagine it not being there.
..oh, and were talking the 'hyundai' and the 'accent' here right? the 'H' has posts and would look dumb if removed.

If you look in the member's garage section I have pictures of mine debadged.
I recommend debadging highly.

ok, one picture!

yes, definitely debadge. It is very easy and makes the rear look cleaner (and who couldn't use a clean rear).

I've never seen a car look bad after being debadged.

Sorry it's blurry, I was thinking about seizure-inducing amounts of lights I could add to my car.

i think i'm going to do this, too.

i don't dislike them being there, but the strings on my california duster get caught up on the accent badge & have ripped on it and the bade started to peel a bit, so i may as well just take them off the next time i detail the car. (which won't be until the damned sap spewing trees beside my parking spot are removed sometime soon.)

I am in mid modification.. meaning i have been too lazy to clean the remaining glue. I permanently removed the Hyundai, and currently getting my 'H' and ACCENT painted flat black. I'll center the Accent below the 'H' above the trunk handle to give it a more centered look.

i'll post pics when the painted badges are on and the trunk is cleaned up

I tried goo gone and it was a very slow process in my opinion. I'll try it again tomorrow

I might give this a try myself.
turtle wax bug and tar remove also works pretty well at getting rid of sticky stuff.

goo gone removed my ACCENT spot, although i am having trouble with the 'H' and the HYUNDAI. I literally rubbed my right index finger raw with the towel trying to scrub at it with the goo gone and i had to stop

try some heat to soften it up? (heat gun, hair dryer)

maybe get something you can "tape" to the car to form a lip/pool where you can fill it with goo gone & let it soak the affected area vs. run down? ie plastic wrap twisted up or something, then tape it on w/ blue painters tape which will leave very little residue, if any, to rub off afterwards.

finished debadging about an hour ago! looks alot better!! I just used some floss, and peeled off the glue with my fingers(they hurt now). I was careful not to scratch the car, i also used a little alcohol rub to get off the sticky. heres a pic:
