I'm new to the forums and new to the whole import scene, always been domestic. I just bought a new Accent about 3 months ago due to the rising gas prices and the 9,999 price, and couldn't be happier with the car, average 43mpg in it. Got as base as you could get, no block heater, no nothing. Then I ordered the A/C kit through Hyundai for a 1000 (700 cheaper than they wanted when I bought the car) so I installed that, then got a cruise control kit through Rostra, love the car now.

Anyway to the point. I put an HID kit in my car roughly a month ago and the lights need to be adjusted now. I can see the adjusters, have looked on Michelle1 and Alldata (I work at a shop as a mechanic, and we have both) but they just show two screwdrivers in the adjusters. One has a plastic cap on it, the other has an 8mm bolt. I'm far too lazy to pull the headlights out for a 3rd time to adjust them so I was hoping one of you could help me.

Can anybody help me out?

welcome

you adjust the headlights while they are on and in the car. with the bolts you just mentioned. you have to pull out the plastic cap for horizontal alignment the other one is for vertical alignment. you need a wall and a flat surface. go 7 meters away from you wall. the cut-off line should be at the height of the bulb. from your reflector. for the horizontal alignment you need to draw a vertical line in the wall that would be the center of your car. then measure the distance between both bulbs from the reflectors now draw two vertical lines one from one side of the central vertical line and the other the other side. they should be the same distance form the central line and the distance between both should be the same distance you measured from bulb to bulb. now align your headlights horizontally so that the vertical line is in the center of the hot spot.

This is 3 meters away but if you have more room 7 is better.
