Hello, I just signed up to these new forums after browsing and searching with no luck at all. Firstly, I want to say that I am purchasing a Hyundai Elantra GLS auto with pop equip. package. From my test drive i felt it was a nice little car that seems to be good on gas. Does anyone get more then what the EPA says localy? After 2 weeks of bargaining with the dealer they have settled at 13.2k and $600 worth of gas. Is it a good deal? Has anyone changed the oil in there elantra? The sales men was telling me that the oil filter was very accessible, yet could not find it. I have changed oil in my Acura and Honda, which both are a pain to get to the filter. The last question I have is: is the key chipped? OR can I just go out to walmart and get a copy of the key made. My other cars have chipped keys, but I am not clear on this car.
Thanks :liebe011:

My daughter has an 08 Elantra. She easily excedes the EPA estimate for highway mileage. Most of her driving is a combination of highway & city driving.
The oil filter is easily accesible. It is removed from the bottom.
She has 12000 miles on the car so far without any issues.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Hyundai and they told me the key can be coppied anywhere or from the dealer for $5.99. They told me that if I lock the car with the remote then i have to unlock it with the remote also. I asked her if there is a way to disable it, she told me no. BUT, i think there should be a way to disable it. (also, if you lockit manuly then you can unlock it manualy.)
Thanks
Kumar
