so what can be done to try and get our trip computers out of hyundai? it says that the cars come with them but they dont...

my owners manual states info for one, but mine is just basic odometer/trip-odometer... i think they different with packages...

That's all it is, just basic. They don't offer anything else with other packages, maybe they are different in other countries.

Yeah, all mine does is count the mileage until you reset it. I thought I was gonna have a bunch of cool features with it, but no. I'm gonna have to get a scanguageII.

You guys with the "trip computer" mean you have the display for outside temperature, fuel range, and average miles per gallon? Not just the dual TRIP A/B odometers that all models have? The actual trip computer seems to be a mystery, the manual has shown how to work one for a couple years but no north american accents had it installed and wasn't mentioned on the features list.

Anyway, a ScanGauge will blow the factory trip computer out of the water. And far less costly, I saw the price for just the uplevel cluster w/o the trip computer and it was around $800 IIRC - so god knows how much the trip computer version runs if it's even available (and if it will even work as a direct replacement to your existing cluster.) Not worth it, the only thing the integrated trip computer has over a SGII is the fact that it's built-in and also the outside temperature display. The SGII is far more flexible, practical, and useful.

No... no temp/fuel range, etc... just A/B trip odometer and main odometer... I assumed that's what "trip computer" meant. It "computes" mileage for a "trip", therefore making it a "trip computer" ... lol.

I mean, come on, what do you expect? It's a $10k car...

You get it if you get the sunroof package i think, i know it was an option the dealer told me, my sister has it on her elantra and its basically the same thing.

You definately want the scanguageII. It offers so much more that any trip computer. I like the fact it shows voltage, coolant temp, intake temp, and all the other goodies of a high dollar trip computer.

The best is the real time MPG, so you can adjust your driving and see the real time affects on the car. Buy it, you won't regret it.
