I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and i was wondering if there was a simple way to connect the mp3 player to the car audio so you can play songs on the mp3 player in the car? I unfortunately do not know much about cars ect.. so it would be helpful if you explained it in simple terms Thanks.

People will probably tell you to run a "search."

2006-2008 Hyundai Sonatas do not have an Aux input to run your IPOD. The MP3 function of the stereo is only if you burn CDs in MP3 format (which is very picky), In my sonata limited 6 disc changer sometimes the CD works, somtimes it does not.

You have 2 options.

1. Swap out your headunit for an aftermarket stereo unit. They have some prety nice double-din that will fit with the ipod aux port and usb port on the front.

2. You can get an FM transmitter to attach to your Ipod and it will play over the stations. Some people will tell you its a great purchase others will say the quality is not that good.

I just purchased this for my phone because it has an 8gb extended memory chip. My phone also had built in navigation and everything else so...

I will most likely swap my head unit out around xmas for one of these. I like the first one because it has the Aux in put and USB in put in the front of the unit. You don't have to buy the extra stuff.

With the 6 Stack changer it is like having a built in 4 Gig MP3 player.

I store a copy of the rest of my Library in the center console.

I agree the 6 disc changer is awesome. Although, I have not had a successful burn of more than 30 songs on a CD. I have tired to tweak it in every way and used different types of software.

The next thing for me to try is using a CD-R that is not for music. Someone posted that it worked better.

if you don't wanna spend much that FM transmitter seems a pretty good deal ,but if you wanna keep the car for log defeinitly go for a new headunit ,that worth it.
I tried to bare with my stock headunit ,but couldn't take it more than 1 month.

If you are really interested I will locate my old thread/posts from 2 years ago

on this topic. It all boiled down to CD-R Data discs which I still have no idea

what the difference is, and also using the slowest write speed, no art or play lists or tags.

And all songs burned as the same extension & same 96K sample rate. It

took hours longer to burn these Discs, now though I can fit 130 plus songs on

a single disc, and they all play flawlessly!.

130? All my songs are converted to 112Kbps bitrate... on a regular CD-R (700mb/70min) I can fit over 200 songs. (Ok well 212) I also burn my cds at the highest speed (If I remember my fastest write speed is 24x) with like maybe 12 songs on the cd wont work tho, but still that 200 songs! haha

Ok I have a sorta on topic off-topic question. Is there anywhere I can get this unit
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1197074853868

but with bluetooth bulit in? Also something like that unit will fit right with the whole double dask thing right?.. sorry im not good at this stuff

I have something like 160 songs on a CD. Most range between 128 or 192kbps, some higher. So far I love it. I was considering getting a new headunit for my Cherokee, but I'm glad I never did, since I got my new Sonata and all :P

If you must have an MP3 player connect to your headunit, I assume the only way to do so with the stock one is by an FM Transmitter, as mentioned. Don't expect perfect quality. If the station the audio is transmitted over is occupied, you will get interference. I've used one in my Jeep off and on only to barely get acceptable results. I just about have to hold the transmitter (I suppose acting like an antenna) before the sound comes in clear.

Wait...You're not laughing at MiamiLX, ARE YOU?

Sure I can get as many Songs on a CD as you two too,

but my songs average 10 to 20 minutes.

All those time tested helpful hints came from the Manual,

and somewhere else, I can't remember. I might be losing

my mind, but my CD's play just fine! :trophy:
