I have a project where I intend to use the older style MAF sensor (the one that does not have a rectangular box on top) from a 2001 tiburon.

I would like to know what the diameter of the intake piping is. Based on pictures on the internet, I gather it is 2-3 inches, but I can't be more exact than that.

And using 6500RPM redline, 2.0L, 80%VE, I'm getting a high end flowrate of 5200 liters per minute; or ~183 CFM. Knowing the intake piping inner diameter will help me apply it to my use.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using it for a duct airflow sensor in the HVAC system in an 06 Altima. It's a PC interfaced automatic HVAC control project I'm working on. I needed to find a sensor with a small footprint, as most MAF sensors have that big box on top, and the spot I have to insert it in is narrow.

The velocity range I need to measure is 0 ~ 25 m/s so, allowing .1 for thickness (conservative), that puts me right in the ballpark. 2L* (1 out of 2 revs is intake)* 6500 redline RPM * ~80% volumetric efficiency /pi*2.65"^2. = 24.3 m/s.

So that is good news to me. Thank you!!!

I haven't updated my thread in a bit, but it's a project on working on with the Fusion Brain and the thread is in mp3car.com.

My HVAC thread.
It's kind of long and changes as it goes, and not very... well its ... probably kind of geeky and unncessary to most.

Thanks again for the information.
