although AL is lightweight, it is probably too soft for this application (lots of stress) you probably want to use steel? :57:

aluminum works...this i know.
steel works too just heavier but easier to work with(more people can weld steel than aluminum....fyi)

what about an alloy?

i went to the metal place today and the steel tubes flexed a bit more and weighed a tonne more. but the aluminum tubes were 3/8 thicker in the walls

as long at it doesnt weigh a ton and doesnt flex it should do fine(try to get oval shaped seems to flex less and be more rigid)....the stiffer the better.... :whistling:

i took one from a b13 sentra(ebay for 9.99 hehe) and redrilled the mounts to fit ours, have to finish fillin in the holes from the old pattern and then am going to extend the ends to meed the bar which has adjusters on both sides......ill try and get some pics if i can get one of my friends over with a camera....mine has died

i have a mig welder so it makes it a little easier to make stuff like this and custom SRIs...hehe
