The main problem that I am having is that my 2001 Elantra will stutter on acceleration. I have had this prob for a little while now, but it wasn't bad. Now, for the last two days it will stutter bad. It not only does it on acceleration, but also during normal driving and the CEL is ON. I pulled codes P0300, P0301, P0304 with my scanner. I did a look up in my Haynes repair manual, and it gave me the info I needed... but not very detailed...Cylinder 1 misfire, cylinder 4 misfire.. and multiple cylinder misfire
For right now, my plan is to start at the spark plugs and wires because I have never changed them... Past that, I am at a loss short of bringing it to the dealer. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Kevin

So, I ended up changing the spark plugs, wire-set and pcv valve. I also had the battery cable terminal connector for the ground was almost cracked all the way though, so that was replaced.
Everything went smooth and now the car runs great. The stutter on accel is gone and the CEL is gone.

I would like to say thank you to this forum for the wealth of information that I found here. It helped mucho!

This problem can sometimes be attributed to a bad or cracked head gasket as well. The gasket breaks down and the cylinder loses compression. If plugs, wires and your coil pack all seem fine, this is something to look into.
