Hi I'm Kalvin from Malaysia.

I had a 2005 Auto Elantra 1.8L which recently had some problem from the gearbox, on switching between 2nd, 3rd, I get a crunch. However it goes smooth after 4th gear and when the enginee warm.

Had been sent over to Hyundai Workshop, but they still can't find the problems. They had ben change OD(something like a nut with 2 pin) from the gearbox then now the problems become changeing from 3rd to 4th gear crunch.

Anyone having this issue before? Mind to share?

Thx alot

Kalvin,
I had a problem like yours in my 01' Elantra. I was having issues going into 5th from 4th and then one day I experienced the big bang :w00t: . My Hyundai dealer only
replaced 4th and 5th gears and did not rebuild the whole gearbox stating that they must follow the warrenty terms per Hyundai. Only to return 2 months later to replace the 3rd and 4th gear :w00t: .

The lesson here? Go back to your dealer service manager and explain that you
are now having the same problem with the other gears and you wish to have your
gearbox either repaired intoto or you want another gearbox! I do not know how Hyundai
has there warrenty terms there, but either way you deserve your gearbox to be returned to you without problems. Let me know how you make out.
