Hi to all,

Just got my first Hyundai, a 2002 Elantra Lavita. The dealership had to replace the battery prior to my taking it out of the yard as it had been idle for too long. On having to do this they have security locked the CD player, and being that the car came from interstate without a booklet, I'm stuck without music for now :(
They've nicely enough offered to fix this by replacing the CD player with one they have purchased (a cheap and dodgy surprise, surprise) however I'm not that keen to have the Hyundai one removed without knowing for sure that it couldn't have been fixed somehow. Anyone know if there's a default override code or something similar to reset this security requirement? I'm guessing not or there wouldn't be a need for security... haha, but thought I'd check as a newbie.

I'm not sure how it is there, but here in the states you can get the radio chassis code (on the radio itself) and a Hyundai dealer should be able to use that to look up the radio unlock code. It surprises me that they don't know about this.
