Hi Dudes,

Im from Ireland just trying to find my way in the Hyundai community and looking for some help.
Were a Hyundai Family, weve a 2004 Trajet CDTI for the family trips and Ive just bought a 1998 Sonata 2 Liter gsi, which needs pimped big stlye.

Ive a few question about the sonata which was very cheaply bought and needs a small amount of work.

When I bought it, it had been sitting for a few months and the brake discs looked well corroded, first drive gave the usual pulsating pedal of a car with rusty unused discs, after 50 miles it seemed to ease. Until i needed to stop quickly, it stopped in line but felt like the passenger wheel wanted to wobble off. The steering is slightly off and wheels need balanced. But this braking problem is odd....

Also a small intermitted issue i noticed is when you brake HARD the cental locking activates and closes the doors !!!
That needs sorting asap !!

Please help

Gavin

Welcome to the community. I only wish I knew as much as you obviously do. From my numerous posts, you'll quickly find that I know nothing, but am curious about keeping mine as pristine as possible. Good luck and sorry to get your hopes up with an answer.

It sounds like that one rotor may be slightly warped. Of course this could be caused by some of the lug nuts being really tight and others not so tight, but it sounds warped to me. I'd just take her somewhere and have someone check it. They can check it leaving the rotor on the car and just taking the wheel off. You probably already knew this but thought I'd throw it in the pot.

I think your car needs both alignment AND balancing. That might solve both your problems. BTW, this combination is always highly recommended when you get a used vehicle.
