I have a 2007 2.7 fwd sante Fe. About 17 000 km (about 10 500 miles)
It doesn't see much highway. Mostly in town drving about 65kh/hr (40 mph)
I am averaging 15.5 LITERS PER 100 KM (15.1 mpg) in the winter i was getting (17.2 Litres per 100KM (13.6 MPG)

My dealership says thats about right WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also i can`t charge any electronic device without the key in. Pain in the But.
The Sante Fe is a nice smooth ride but unless the mileage improves I would never EVER buy a Hyundi again.

ANY THOUGHTS

Milage is a subjective matter! If you have the 4wd (awd) version then lower milage. Short hops kill milage because your car never gets up to full operating temp. I drive a 08 Sonata I4 and I consistently beat the govt milage ratings. However, I drive a route to work that has few lights, a 70 KM speed limit and is about 15 km's each way. Optimum conditions! I have got 43 MPG (CDN) on some fills on hiway trips and have averaged 33 MPG overall since i bought the car. My experience is that Hyundai makes vehicles that are competitive with other comparable models and most cases rate at or near the top. BTW I would never own a SUV (cross-over if you like) for the very reasons you mention.

Well.. I have the o8 SF Limited so it has the 3.3 and AWD.. it only has 2500 kms on it, but the car is used mostly around the small town I live in.. during some Hiway runs the computer says I was getting about 10.1l per 100kms (summer) and right now it's about 13.3l per 100kms.. sure it's less than my old 94 Accord that I replaced, but I knew going in it would be less due to the extra weight and AWD.. bigger engine etc.

Using your figures... 15.5l=3.41 IMP Gallons 100km=62 miles means a bit better mileage than you think :D

Granted, the SF ain't no Prius, but we didn't buy them for that.. least I didn't.

That does seem a bit low, but then again you are driving in winter where there is constant breaking and acceleration. Maybe you are running it in AWD mode too much?
