...in a 2003 Sonata. Is this weird, normal, perplexing? When the car is started for the first time of the day (or first time in many many hours) the car has a weird extra noise during the first 10-20 seconds of startup if the A/C is on, the noise seemingly coming from the passenger side under the hood, but is audible from inside and outside the car.

Tell me this is normal as I just spent lots of money this week on new brake pads, new front fender liners, component speakers, and an amp. None of which have been installed yet, so there goes another several hundred dollars on top of that.

had a rover with this problem, was just a noisy bearing on air con, ran like this for 12 months till i sold it, probably still like it,
