Hello everyone.

I have a 1999 Hyundai Accent with manual door locks and windows. My drive side window seems to keep coming off the track. I managed to slip it back on using a flathead screwdriver once so far. I am not having much luck the second time around.

Seeing as everything is manual I figured this might just be an easy weekend fix. Is this something a newb can fix or does it require the work of a professional?

Your help is appreciated.

I had this problem once as well. There is a thread somewhere on this site, but i couldn't find that one. Your problem is that the window pane sits in this "arm" in the door which moves up and down when you open or close the window, but the glue has just come unstuck and the arm isn't holding the pane properly, so it moves out of track. You can take the inside door panel off by taking out the screws. I remember I had trouble removing the handle but I can't remember exactly. Just reglue the arm to the pane with areldite or superglue and it should work. You might have to scrape the old glue off first.

Lkooks like someones done this with mibne, my 'arm' had gaffer tape on.

BOTH of my ELECTRIC windows have come off track.. try explaining that to friends and relatives in summer when you give them a lift!!!

So, best way to get it off is to unscrew indoor panel and see whats happened? mines not off the track as such, rather i have to 'guide' the window or it will wedge and stall into the frame, or go outside the rubber seal....

Hi there,
My '98 with crank windows had a problem that the window would get crooked and bind. Well it got worse yesterday when my son tried to wind it up fast as it started to rain and the cables balled up on the reel. So now I need a window regulator. No dealers have a new one so I went to a junkyard and they broke it taking it out for me. Now I'm back to trying to find a used one. New one is about $95.00.
