Just got a letter in the mail. While it sure is generic looking,

Hyundai is no longer requiring that you bring a Child or Small

Adult with you as a condition for getting your Sonata OCS Seat sensor replaced.

The good news, a Loaner Vehicle will be provided, even at those Dealer locations

that don't participate in the Loaner Program. The bad news, this fix is going to be

done on the cheap, and I doubt most owners will qualify for replacement. :innocent:

I dropped my 06 sonata off at the dealer on June 9th for this problem. I finally got my car back on July 1st. I put a little over 1200 miles on the loaner car. They actually replaced my seat cusion. The dealer stated it took so long because none of the seat cusions are available stateside. It took a long time but it seems like the ocs is working now.

I had the "Air Bag" light problem twice now, first time it was indeed a bad belt buckel... Second time a friend of mine was moving around in the seat looking for something in the back and it came on. The second time the dealer tryed to tell me it was my fault because I had a few things on the floor that pulled a wire. My first question is "Why are wires exposed under my seat anyway, shouldnt they be hidden for safety reasons and such" his response was "Well, thats the way the car is made, keep stuff from under your seat.. If it happens again we will charge you"

I would like to see them charge me!

Anyway though, this problem is annoying, when the airbag light is on they told me the airbag will not deploy in an accident, so im driving around in a car that wont save me from a crash? wow, how unsafe. The first time it happend with the belt buckel they actually gave me the car back and told me to come back... I told them to give me a rental because it's an unsafe car, they told me its driveable so we dont provide a rental... I don't like hyundai dealers at all.. very rude bunch at my dealer.
