OK I have contacted all the dealers in my area, NO 5spds!!!!!!!!!!!

There is like 1 or 2 but 90+ miles away.

I dont want to get anyother lil car but the Accent, but I find it funny they have 1 billion trillion autos and dougnut manuals.

I dont want to see this when I pump gas one more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(IMG:http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f143/lexsee/216054097157_0_0.jpg)

I will get about 450 miles on this, but still, it sucks.

well why dont you drive the 90 miles to the nearest dealer and buy one there??? it makes no sense to complain about the lack of a vehicle when you could very well go to another dealership or order one. and while your there play a few mind games and get them to throw in a few extras.

Try www.traderonline.com. They list new vehicles as well as used. Can type in distance and find what's available. I rode a bus to pick my car up b/c I couldn't find what I wanted (7 hours), so I feel your pain but 90 miles, heck I could walk that far!!!!!

90 miles isn't bad at all if they have what you're looking for. I've done that before! If the local guys don't have exactly what you want it's worth it in the long run to look elsewhere.

I agree. Take the Fleetwood for one last road trip and go get an Accent. Ninety miles is not that bad at all if you really want the car.

Do what I did. Use the internet to look at dealers near you for the best price/car. I ended up going 175 miles away to get mine. I took the train and bought a SE 5spd for about 8K less than the base model was supposedly selling for where I live.

No kidding... Our base models are stickering for around $14k, and $8k off of that would be $6000??? I kind of doubt that you got a new SE for $6000... unless that's counting some kind of trade in...

The dealer I got it from had base models at around 9k otd. The SE I got was $12,660 otd. The local SE nearest me with a 5spd was $19,870 before tax. The GS without the options I wanted was 16K. So yeah it was worth the trip, and its not just Hyundai's around here, my parents went throught the same thing with a Nissan minivan 30k vs 50k. I looked specifically at cars they had in inventory none of that "we can get the car for you b/s". I also was pretty much forced to do it that way because local stealerships kept insisting on selling me a car I didn't want, like automatic or a 4 door ..or both. The internet makes you more informed about the inventory than even some of the sales-people.

**EDIT** about my earlier post about saving almost 8k it was 4k off the base GS no windows or a/c, and about 8k off the SE.

The GS locally with the options I really wanted would have been more than the SE locally.

Holy crap... We have about 8 SEs on the lot, all with automatics (extra $$$), and sunroofs (more extra $$$), and they are only stickering around $17,250. I'd love to know what else you could add to a 5 speed SE besides a sunroof that would justify a $19k sticker price, unless it had like every OEM accessory you could add to it (body kit, short shifter, strut bar, SRI, cargo net, etc). That's an absolutely rediculous price for an SE.

The local SE had none of that stuff you would think would make it cost that much. It was a 5spd just like mine except silver. I didn't want a sunroof but could have had one for about $400 more they had another car with one at my dealer. The markup around here is rediculous in NC. Good thing I moved from an area where cars were cheaper VA/dc metro. Took the train up made the deal stayed with a friend overnight and drove back home. Bada bing bada boom .... even if I had stayed in a Hotel I would have came out way ahead. I really wanted a GS when I started looking 5spd with ac/radio ...none to be found around NC supposedly. So the search began up the coast for the car I wanted, ending ironically where I had just moved from with an SE around the price of a GS locally.

Wow, yeah the markup there is crazy, apparently. I thought $17k was high for an Accent...

I'd love to have had a sunroof, but at the time I bought mine, we only had 3 (gray, black and white) and not one with a sunroof. Now, a month after I bought mine, we have a LOT FULL of SEs with sunroofs, all colors. Makes me sick... lol. If we ever get in a 5 speed SE with a sunroof, I'm going to go outside and shed tears all over it... that'll just be my luck...

Back in december my brother bought a Black G/S with auto and ac/power package he got his for $13650otd. I haven't told him what I payed for the SE yet :whistling: but it is all his fault I wanted one also. I would have been perfectly happy with crank windows, but my parents convinced me I wanted the power stuff again. I had power everthing and then some in my last car.
