This is a somewhat humorous but interesting read for any performance driver.

That's what I'm talking about. All that work and stripping to nothing just to get Sonata 1/4 mile numbers. :D

Seriously, everyone bellyaches about poor mileage, but aren't willing to lose weight. If we were willing to give up our cool, quiet comfort, we can lose 1500lbs and gain 30% in mileage or a huge performance increase. Losing weight is so effective because you can reduce engine size, further reducing weight. I call it the "un snowballing" effect.

Outstanding! Now there is a Nissan driver willing to commit to a goal at any cost!

Nissan said "destroy this project car"
SCC nerds stuck their hands in the air and waved em around till Nissan gave them the car.

The rest... is history.

:amen:

Every year, they make better, more powerful, more efficient engines... then wrap them in heavier cars!

I appreciate the safety benefits of air bags, reinforcements and and crumple zones... but I could live with more noise in my cabin and live without the heated/cooled/vibrating/massing/24-way power seats
