i debadged my car yesterday using the fishing line method--worked like a charm--just used some 3m adhesive remover to get rid of goo left behind--thanks to all the info in the forums , this turned out to be a very easy mod---looks so much smoother without the letters--now i just need to replace the flying "H" with something unique--anyone know of a good place to get emblems fairly cheap?

Congrats on the debadge, but your flying H replacement question has been covered about half a dozen times :)

Try checking out the aftermarket sources like KAI and so on, they are listed on Madderhatter's site which is linked in a sticky at the top of the page.

I debadged my awhile ago. see the pictures. The pictures also include moled wood trim I purchased too. Soory for the qualty but each door has the molded trim. The guy at the Hyundai dealership said that my car is the best one he has seen so far. Unfortunatly, I will be selling it shortly for a Genesis, M35 or MBZ. Need to talk my wife into getting a new car that has better gas mileage (none even come close to my current) You can go to this site to get an idea or order new badges:

After driving top of the line MBZ's on Saturday and coming to the realization that I would not pay for nor afford I decided that on Thursday I am going to take a look at the new Genesis. However, I am not going to purchse one until close to December when the prices come down like the Azura's. In fact I am probably going to look at dealer demo's. I have a car broker friend who goes to the weekly car auctions here in SOCAL. The acutions cars are generally high end dealer demos, loaners etc.. Last week I got the list of how much the cars went for and I can tell you that your average car loses so much in depreciation after the first and second year. An example are the Cadilac DTS's. In 2007 they averaged $42K brand new but at acution the most expensive one went for $17K. 2006's average price was $14.5K all mileage did not exceed 18K. The Hyundai's did not do much better except for the Elantras and lower. So Ipredict I can get a Used Demo Genesis V-6 for 24K out the door. If you look at the 08 Azura's going for 15K I think that is a fair assessment.

just curious, what is "L330" for?

L330 is for 3.3 liter Engine. I got it from one of the Korean Sonata sites. I guess
Sonata's have the L330 emblems on them. Last time I went to the Hyundai dealership for schedule oil and stuff some Korean guy with a Azura said "Wow" your car looks nice. And had to get the service guys to look at it. A year 1/2 ago I was at a fast food resturant, near Irvine CA, and I saw a guy looking at my car. I walked outside and I said "Can I help you?" He introduced himself as a Hyundai of USA senior marketing guy and asked if I got my car from Korea. Because he said the badging and the "NF" logo. When he looked inside and saw the wood trim and I just treated the leather he said that my car was not built in Alabama. I laughed and said no I bought in LA but he did not believe took a couple of pictures and went on his happy way. I also got the chrome trim around the headlights and tail lights and at that time the only place to get exterior excessories was the internet. So I am sure he was not aware of mods yet.

I'm a new Hyundai Sonata owner, and I have a quick question: What is "NF"?

NF is the design style of the '06-'08 Sonata's (does it include '09's?).. the last design style was known as EF (i think 01-05 maybe?).. something that is used more in Korea and really just an identifier here on the forum...
