You can tell a lot about a manufacturer's commitment to excellence by their parts network.

I went to my dealer and asked about the coin box, the small bin to the left of the steering column. My grandnephew used it as a footstep to climb on the dash. Snap, crunch, owie! :w00t:

I didn't expect them to be able to order it ("No service" they call it.) To my surprise they could order the part, and it was only $20

This was on Friday. The parts guy said it probably wouldn't come in until Monday but I got a call Saturday morning: "Your part is in."

I'm still in shock! I'm used to dealing with Ford. :bwekk:

haha, thats awesome. I definitely noticed that the maintenance people at hyundai seem to be a LOT nicer than Nissan, I pulled up to Hyundai and right away was being helped, the guy that came out was crawling under my car right then and there to look at stuff. total dedication! I love it.

It's great to hear about satisfied customers. I am thrilled you are getting such great service at your dealership. That's the way they ALL should operate.

Most of the time you can get any Hyundai part in 3 days or less if it has to be special ordered. Parts that qualify for emergency order can be gotten overnight at no extra charge. The only way it should take longer is if a part goes on backorder or gets shipped from a farther warehouse. Both are out of the dealer's control so if this ever happens, don't take it out on them. This is wonderful in comparison to other car makers... Many times if we order parts from a different kind of car maker, it takes a week or more to get special ordered parts. Nissan is particularly terrible in their mannerisms and customer service, as is Toyota.

Hyundai has an excellent parts and service program. I know you may not be able to tell this at some dealerships, but when you find a good dealer, it's obvious that they take pride in their work. Give them all the support you can, it's the only way the brand will grow.

I wish. Our dealer orders parts every Thursday. Miss it, and you wait until next week. Sux.

Hmm... I forgot that not all dealers are on the SmartStock system. We can order special order parts any and every day of the week. Maybe other dealerships elect not to do that, and instead only order customer parts with their weekly stock orders. Doesn't really seem like a good way to get good customer service numbers if you ask me. We order stock orders to replenish our warehouse stock twice a week, but will order anything for customers any day of the week, not just stock order days.

Same with my Miami Dealer. Of course they could place a 'Special

Order' at any time. But Thursday was the ordering day, which by the

way made me feel uneasy when I was told that! :whistling:

I seem to remember before Hyundai was allowed to operate in the United States

in the mid 80's, they opened up a vast multi billion dollar parts distribution Network

in part to satisfy our Government. This was a revolutionary concept compared to

companies like Dodge/Mitsubishi who were always experiencing domestic and

international parts delays. Nothing like being told your new part was on the

way, from Japan :w00t: :gitara:

That's how we operate as well. We are a pretty "big" Hyundai dealer in the area and have a lot of access to many things. When I order accessories for my Santy, I get them pretty quick. That could be the employee treatment :bwekk: .

I'm glad to hear that it worked out so well for you. Like posted above not every store gets a truck everyday, but Hyundai itself has been very good about parts orders. Lack of backorders, etc.

About "Thursday is Order Day."

US dealers who order once a week are doing business as if they have no competition. If they keep this attitude up they won't be competing against anyone; their empty lot will be competing with the other empty lots for the favor of the local weeds.
