I'm new at this, so any tips you can offer would help:

How did you remove the H logo from the rear trunk lid? Were there pins and holes beneath? And how did you mount the wing logo? Did it have pins to mount, or was it simply attached with an adhesive?

I've already ordered the wing badge, and I can't wait to get it on--but wanted to get some tips on how to do it!

Thanks in advance--

Question for jwaters943:

It appears that the iPod integration on the standard stereo is actually more sophisticated and functional than the iPod integration on the 17-speaker Lexicon system; I only get a display of song title when I choose the system, sans artist.

Another problem I've been having with my system is that it is impossible to enable shuffle (or random) play on the iPod if you're in an individual playlist. You can enable shuffle/random on the iPod for all songs, then have it continue to shuffle when it's connected--but once you select a playlist, it plays in order. Do you have that problem with your Genesis stereo system?

Thanks!

Wow, interesting J!      Being the owner of a GS430 and previous BMW (which one?), could you please give a detailed comparison with regard to solidity/construction, and DRIVING/Transmission, etc..  to the others.   Is this thing really up there with the others??       I've been checking these out, but my friends are telling me "no way" is this thing really the solid quality piece like the others.   What's YOUR TAKE????

By the way, you car is gorgeous bro!!

Honestly, and I'm not kidding when I say this, it's more solid than either my GS430 (2006) or 528i (1997). Of course it's still new, but the structure feels so solid and tight even when going over railroad tracks or broken pavement. It's the most quiet and solid-feeling vehicle I've ever owned. The doors may not have the same exact solid feeling as a new BMW or MB, but they're darn close! As far as the engine/transmission goes, they seem very well-matched and refined. I have had the transmission shift aprubtly once when accelerating agressively and then letting off the accelerator.

I don't mean to steer traffic off this site, but if you haven't already, please read some of the posts over here: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genes...nesis-forum.php

Don't take my word for it though, we already have a few other people who have traded in their BMWs or Infinitis for the Genesis! :)

HA! That's pretty cool J! So what do you say to the guys who say, "Yeah, but I don't want to pull into the valet with a Hyundai, etc...."?

I guess you could also just switch out the shocks/struts, or whatever, and put on the really wide tires to get the handling more up to spec.

I love all the Germans, but my problem with them is, in the year 2000 and beyond, i mean, we are in 2008, they had better be making machines that don't fail, almost EVER! They don't come through here. They fail quite a bit. If I pay that much, then I want to drive the **** out of it, and have it still starting, and shifting flawless with 80k miles, anywhere I want, etc....

You have to freaking walk on eggshells with those cars, still. It's 2008!

Interesting. I'll have to see if I can get mine to shuffle the songs randomly without going to the iPod and get back to you on that. I can tell you that on my non-Tech Genesis in order to access the Playlists, etc. I have to press up on the "Cat/Folder" button and then use the "Tune/Setup" knob on the right of the audio system to scroll through the selections and then push in the knob to select it.

FWIW, here are some shots showing the iPod connectivity/audio screen:

Nice car. We looked at one yesterday, while getting the van serviced. Couple questions, does the Ipod charge from the hyundai connecter? And where the front inner fenders, in the engine bay seem unfinished as compared to the rest of the car. I mean they covered the trunk arms, why not do something here as well.

And one last one, is there any talk of remote start?
