What's with the horn sounding only after the second push of the lock button instead of sounding on the first push??? This is not what my other car does, I have a mercury Marquie and when I push the lock button on the remote the doors lock and the horn sounds a quickly. The Accent however when the remote lock button is pushed locks all 3 doors but no horn sound! The horn only sounds if the remote button is pushed twice for lock. Is this normal for Hyundie???

It's normal... The doors lock and the alarm sets on the first push, if you really want the audible confirmation you hit it again. Comes in handy for me, a lot of times I don't want the horn to chirp so I just watch for the visual confirmation on the lights. But when I really must hear Road Runner go meep, I hit the button twice. Or maybe I hit it repeatedly and have the horn sound several times when my OCD is kicking in and I have to assure myself the car is locked. :w00t:

i usually utilize it when i'm heading into work. I need to hear the beep, or i wonder if i hit the lock button at all. When i'm at home i only hit it once. mainly because i get home late and my driveway is like 8 feet from our neighbors window.

I much prefer this setup rather than only having a horn beep. I park in a garage at work and get so SICK of hearing horns beeping while people are locking their vehicles.

wow! 8 ft!! i could reach out my bedroom window and start my neighbors Harley! we have MAYBE 3 ft of grass between my house and neighbors driveway... really annoying if they want to have friends over for late nite bonfire... i wake up and think the house is on fire!

back to topic, i dont have alarm on mine, but the alarm on moms Elantra is the same, one to lock and arm, 2 to beep... to unlock, 1 press unlocks drivers door only and 2nd unlocks all doors.....
