Wow, interesting... and clearly the best, most meaningful article we have read on here so far, period. The mentioned a little "porpoising" on the highway at speeds with rhythmic undulations in the pavement. Also described the suspension being a bit soft. Sounds good to me. As long as there's no clunking noise! :)
What do you guys think - is 5.7s 0-60 good for a 375hp V8 mated to a 6-speed? I think E550 does it in <5s. Seems about .5s slow. Not that you'd REALLY notice it in day to day driving...

Keep in mind that another G8 GT tested by Motor Trend did 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. It was in their comparison test with the new Maxima. The Maxima did 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, and even though it's FWD, it has a very similary power-to-weight ratio as the Genesis V6, so the 6.2 seconds 0-60 seems believeable. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans...ifications.htmlFWIW, Automobile Magazine managed 0-60 in 5.8 seconds in their comparison test of the G8 GT & 550i. The 550i did it in 5.5 (BMW routinely underrates their engines) http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/ponti...8_gt/index.htmlRoad & Track did 0-60 in the G8 GT in 5 seconds flat. http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/download/0608_g8_dp2.pdfWhat's my point in posting all this? Only to demonstrate that acceleration times of a vehicle can vary depending upon the driver, conditions, etc. I think "average" 0-60 time for the Genesis V8 will be in the mid 5 second range. Some mags, like Road & Track and Car & Driver will likely publish the best numbers, even if they don't explain how they come about those numbers. I've heard C&D does some sort of adjustment to offset certain conditions (e.g. wind, high elevation, etc.), as well as the weight of the test gear.
