Does anyone know a quick and easy way to disable that door bell sound when you open the door or unbuckle your seat belt with the engine running? I know it's there for our safety but I've got my reasons so no speech please.

Man I sure hope so!! That is the most annoying, incessant, prolonged, irritating feature of the whole vehicle!! It hardly needs to gong when you're sitting still in the **** thing and just start the car. Maybe it could be reprogrammed?
Please email me at cd-mail@pobox.com if you learn anything to help. I would appreciate it.

Craig

Yahoo I'm free. I found it. It's a sylver box that's about 1.5" by 1.5" that you just disconnect and it's located behind the trim that connects the floor door trim to the dash. If that makes since.

Thanks. I trust that doesn't affect anything computerwise? I once poured glue onto a little speaker in a Toyota and the system computer went nuts!!

I'm glad to hear your suggestion though. Thanks.!!!

Nop, I've been running like this for a few days now and no problem. I even plug a OBDII just to be sure and no codes came back.

I looked for the box you described in my 2008 Santa Fe and could not see anything like that, most unfortunately. I removed the fuse cover and assume it's in that area that you are referring to. Could you please try to elaborate on exactly where this wonderful box is located? I would GREATLY appreciate it. Please email me at cd-mail@pobox.com and I will be most greatful!!! Thanks.

PS- Their programmers need some help. #1, why in the **** does the stupid thing gong for 7-8 times when you are parked and just start the car? And #2, it doesn't need to gong incessantly when the door is open. We KNOW when the door is open for crying out loud. And #3, it could give us a little more time to get the seat belt buckled before it starts driving us crazy!!

I had to remove the bottom door trim (the one you can put your foot on on the drivers side) then had to remove the trim located between bottom door trim and the dash. This is where my bell was located. I found it simply by following the ding ding ding.

Hope this helps so you can be free from that anoing sound

You can also just disconnect the fuse that powers the bell (and nothing else). Not sure which fuse it is off hand, but look in the owners manual....
