Lately, my '95 Accent is having some issues starting...
Luckily, it does start fine most of the time!
When it doesn't, it seems to be mid-day or afternoon on particularly nice days outside. Might this be a coincidence or related to the problem? Thought I'd mention it. Anyhow, it won't start, although it does turn and the battery doesn't seem to be dead - although a boost has gotten our car running immediately before. When this happens, if we just leave it for about 30 minutes, it will start just fine.
Other times, the car will start on the first try, but only after making this painful crawling sound... It will sound like it's working really long and hard to ignite and will make this poof/tick sound before finally starting. Every time this happens I'm sure our car is about to keel over, but it somehow manages to start!
We have a mechanic in the family (lucky us) and he's had some difficult finding what the problem is since it never seems to happen when he's around. If anyone has experienced this problem with their Hyundai/Accent, please let me know what the source of the issue was.
Thanks - H.
