(1) I have an intermittent problem with my remote locking on a 2000 Grandeur XG. The problem is that occaisionally when I press the remote, the doors lock but the lights do not flash and I suspect that the immobiliser does not arm. I have 2 remotes, I have replaced the batteries in both but both will give the same problem.
I suspect that I have a dirty connection or a dry joint somewhere on the receiver unit. I would clean the connections and check any joints I could, If I knew where it was.
Please can anyone tell me where it is and how to get at it?

(2) The Grandeur XG is fitted with a 'pollen Filter' on the air conditioner. My vehicle is now eight years old and I do not believe this has ever been cleaned.
I believe the filter is located behind the glove box but I am unable to remove the glove box to get at it.

Has any body seviced this item? Is it necessary to service this item?
If so... how do I get at it?

Many thanks for any replies.

try this first, once you have locked the doors with the remote. if the indicator lights do not flash walk around the car and push each door inwards as if you were trying to shut it, watch to see if the indicators flash after trying each door in turn, also push down on the doot lid and bonnet, you may just have a poor connection on one of the doors/boot/bonnet.

the pollen filter is behind the glove box and needs a new filter replacement around every 10,000 mile, the glove box is held on by 10mm bolts and cross head screws.

Thank you very much for the advice on the remote locking problem.
I will certainly do as you suggest, next time the problem occurs. I gave the old girl a wash and polish yesterday (Dark Teal mica, it looks great!) and the problem seems to have gone for now.
Thanks again, Mike
