QUOTE(MiamiLX @ Jun 24 2008, 07:54 PM) What is the difference between Port installed options & Dealer installed options? I thought all Factory/Dealer/Port Spoilers screw on. Anyone can tape one on :whistling: The ones I install don't just tape on. The one i pictured is a port installed spoiler. that spoiler is the only spoiler an SE sonata is supposed to get. believe it or not they are only held on with five 5/8ths metal clips and the 3m tape. I was just curious if they were coming off of the platinums from 07 and the SE's of 08 because they released a port bulletin late last year where we modify the clips to hold better. The difference between port installed and dealer installed is most of the port installed stuff like the bluetooth and spoilers the dealers aren't allowed to install

QUOTE(paravion @ Jun 24 2008, 04:11 PM) Well i guess that kinda what I'm saying. The spoiler he's talking about is screwed on, so I don't understand how it could just fall off. Mine is an aftermarket M3 lip spoiler that uses 3M tape and even that I can't really see coming off...at least not any time soon. I understand all now. It does glue on :w00t: http://jerrystout.us/sonata/tsb/rear_spoiler_install.pdfAnd the PDF is in Color. Madder, I think I've had my Color settings set to Black & White. Gracie looks beautiful in Black! :trophy: This post has been edited by MiamiLX: Jun 24 2008, 08:18 PM

QUOTE(wymi @ Jun 24 2008, 09:27 PM) My 2007 Platinum Edition spoiler is raised up a little on the passenger side. I tried pushing it down but it pops right back up. How can I take it off to replace the tape? I'm not sure how Hyundai's warranty works but if it's under warranty I'd take it to the dealer. If it's out of warranty and you want to try and fix it yourself you can try to pull the spoiler off and retape it with 3m tape. I will say this most of the time when you take one off the clips break. I do know that they found a design flaw in the spoiler and thats why we have to modify the clips. The dealer should cover this under warranty because of that I think. QUOTE(wymi @ Jun 24 2008, 09:48 PM) Is it safe to just pull the spoiler up? you can but if you cant put it back on right away i wouldnt because there are five 5/8ths hole in the decklid that will leak water into your trunk
