Hey Guys,
New to this thing and i just started using it today when i tried to install my short shifter and couldnt since...well, basically the shifter didnt look like it would fit and i was missing parts.

I got:
The shifter
Washers
A screw looking thing

I know very descriptive.

So anyways. went to work on my car and got the bottom part of the shifer in but the side part wasnt fitting right.
Now, granted i did buy my shifter off of ebay but after researching the part ive come to find that i did get all the parts i needed.

When i put the bottom part in the side part doesnt fit right and is forced sideways.
If i put the side part in it doesnt slide all the way through the stock opening and the bottom doesnt fit at all.

Now i know this post might be confusing and ur all probably like..."wtf"

but if u want to see the part go to ebay and type "tiburon short shifter" cant miss the part is silver with red. 9.99 i think.

Please help.

Dear davila,

Did you get written instructions with that shifter? Did they give you a diagram of how to assemble in the car?

You may have the wrong shifter for your car. Per the B & M website this 45119 shifter fits the 2001 Elantra and the 2001 Tiburon. This is the shifter style I found on eBay for the cheapies.

http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=produ...bcat=15&pid=159

This 45115 shifter first the 2000 Elantra and 1997-2000 Tiburon.

Which picture looks like your OEM shifter? You may have the wrong shifter for your car.

hey byron,
first off appreciate the reply
second its the first pic. the B&M
now when i looked at the instructions...the shifter assembly under the cap looks nothing like mine...could it be that i have a 01 but a late model?

i have the 01 tibby with single lamps for each light.
