The mid range of the sounds. Such as bass is for low frequency, and the tweets (treble) is for high's. The mid's are just everything in the middle.

Really depends on the music. I put the bass at like 4-5, mid's at about 5-7, and trebble at about 5-7. Usually my main setting is bass 5, mid 7, tre. 7. I like to hear everything. But that setting isn't really that good if like to have the radio blasting. It's good for about 15-18 on the volume in the city and 10 on the highway. (speed sensitive volume) nice and clear sounds.
