I recently noticed a big jump in the fuel consumption of my scoupe. I have made no performance alterations and my driving style has remained the same as have the roads i have been driving yet i am using a lot more fuel.
I had the car emissions tested and the result confirmed that my scoupe is burning far too much fuel. At the moment i am getting an average of about 18-20 mpg with urban/a-road driving.
So far i have tried a few things that my friends recommended such as, check air filter, replace plugs and leads, replace thermostat sensor, replace hego or lambda sensor. I am concerned that my remaining options are air flow sensor, cat or ecu and i am rapidly running out of money to keep my much loved scoupe on the road. Any advise would be very greatfully recieved. Cheers

Hi!
You should be achieving around 36 m.p.g..
In view of the work you have already done, I would suspect that your problem lies with the M.A.F. (the mass airflow sensor in the intake pipe, after the air filter).....although failure of the air intake temperature sensor (in the airbox) can also adversely affect fuel consumption.

A Hyundai Dealership should be able to read fault-codes stored in your ECU at reasonable cost.
You could then try Breakersweb (Google foe website) for used sensors.....if they can`t find parts for an n.a. Scoupe then those from an early Accent 1.5 M.V.I. should be the same.

Cheers,
Nick. :)
