Just an off the wall question. I know it's comparing apples to oranges but just want to hear your thoughts. Why the Charger? Cause I like the exterior.

A Base Challenger with a 3.5 V6 will start at $21,990.

That is less than my Sonata :w00t:

There's a blue Charger running around, that is one of the best looking vehicles in the entire town, bar none! It's the R/T model. hood scoop, etc. Gorgeous paint. Wow. Wonder if it's worth more than $10,000 after three years???????

Interiors are so-so.

Maybe one of the BIG differences is that the Charger is available in RWD or AWD, and the Sonata is FWD only. Plus, the highest performing Chargers come with that lovely gas-guzzler tax. Really, do you feel you have the need to know that you can kill 60mph in 4-5 seconds?

I (and other people I know) own/owned a Dodge Intrepid and the engine blew out on me and DaimlerChrysler still has not bothered to answer my claim.

To me, Hyundai. Hands down. All the way.

Wow two completely different cars that appeal to two entirely different people. I for one think the Charger is not only ugly, but unsophisticated and loud (in terms of design).

Not to mention Chrysler is notorious for their cheap plasticky interiors and spotty reliability (even by todays standards - check the recalls).

Anyway, which part of your personality do you want to satisfy: the sharp elegant part of you, or the loud american muscle car side.

One is is sophisticated, the other is not.

What do you think of the 2009 Dodge Challenger??

Not sure who you're asking, but interestingly, I'm not feeling the Challenger. Muscle car? Yes. Dukes of Hazard looking? No!

Oh that's cool. It was to 'paravion' but I tend to agree with your comment about

the new Challenger. I still really would like one, and just the 250 HP version.

A 1970 Purple Challenger was my first Car. 318 V8 yet our V6 Sonata could smoke it!

"Loud" that is why I like it. Definitely opposite the Sonata's exterior. I'm a quiet (not shy) person though. Perhaps that's the attraction, the Charger would speak/show for me. Is there enough there to covincingly go in that direction? Probably not, cause I also like to research, analyze, go by facts before buying, and the Sonata overall is a more appealing purchase, even with the bland exterior.

I'd love a Challenger if someone else were paying for the gas.
Way too heavy though... Chrysler finally designs a car that I like the looks of and it weighs 4200 pounds!!!! :(

'08 dodge charger in dark metallic blue with tints, 18 inch black steel wheels and FAT tires.. I would take that in a HEARTBEAT over the Sonata.

I drove a charger a few weeks ago at work. It was an 06 with 60,000 miles on it. The headliner was coming down, and the trans was slipping horribly. I personally don't like them or the 300 because of how far the windshield is.

never a fan of the chargers... they look to "squatty", like there isnt enough head room...

the Challengers are cool looking, a nice throw back to the 70's... but they are all muscle car, that will most likely eat gas like candy

I saw one on the road in Detroit and thought it looked very cool. Better than in pictures.

Would I buy one? No. It's not my style....I'd rather have a Gen Coupe.

'09 Sonata

Chrysler has changed hands several times. The new owner Cerberus and ex CEO of Home Depot Robert Nardelli will destroy the UAW labor relations.

Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., New York, is one of the largest private investment firms in the world, with approximately $23.5 billion under management in funds and accounts. Founded in 1992, Cerberus currently has significant investments in more than 50 companies that, in aggregate, generate more than $60 billion in annual revenues worldwide.

Those aren't defects, they're enhancements. With the headliner coming down, it makes you feel taller. The tranny slipping is just the drivetrain adjusting so you don't burn rubber! Smart!

I drove a 300 before I bought the Sonata. In a 10 minute drive, I had a note page full of comments on why I won't buy this POS. Radio dead, bad sight lines, cr@ppy leather, etc.

OMG... one word ought to make that decision for you. DODGE... Those cars have always been crap and still are. Every trade in we get here at the dealership that's a Chrysler product is totally falling apart after only 30k miles. There is no way I'd ever own one. They're having to give gas away just to sell them. Not worth it to me.
