Attention all 2009 Hyundai Sonata owners:

It would be very valuable to share pricing information so that us prospective buyers can get an idea of what kind of deals are to be had and use that info to form an effective negotiating strategy.

I'm currently in the market for a 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited I4 (with and without navigation). I have been working with a dealer salesman via e-mail (much easier than the in-person pressure-cooker environment). Below are the best out-the-door (O.T.D.) prices I've found so far in the Los Angeles, CA, area.

Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.4L Automatic with Sunroof Wind Deflector & Carpeted Floor Mats:
MSRP: $24,820.00
Invoice: $23,453.00
Discount: - $500.00 (through my bank)
Sell Price: $22,953.00
+$268.00 Documentation & License Fees
+$1,898.16 Tax
+$8.75 Tire Fee
Rebate: - $1,500.00
O.T.D.: $23,627.91

Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.4L with Navigation System, Carpeted Floor Mats & Cargo Net:
MSRP: $26,035.00
Invoice: $24,573.00
Discount: -$500.00 (through my bank)
Sell Price= $24,073.00
+$276.00 Doc. & License
+$1,990.56 Tax
+$8.75 Tire Fee
Rebate: -$1,500.00
O.T.D.: $ 24,848.31

Are these good deals? From my research, I would say yes, but would like your opinions, too. If you would like to share your deal or quote, please make sure it is laid out in the itemized format above. Also, include the city and state.

I just don't understand the price Increase in the past 3 Years?

What happened to most of the Hyundai Dealers in L.A. Depending

on where you live they all closed. Every single one I remember. From Cal

Worthington to Galpin Ford in Sepulveda, the Van Nuyd Blvd & North Hollywood Dealer and many more. :w00t:

These 06 prices were before Rebates of up to $3000

And get a load what the 06 NF Sonata is worth today.

I'd say it's an ok deal. I wouldn't buy a Hyundai these days unless it was at LEAST $500 under invoice before any rebates. You need to get the dealership competing for your business. They need to know to give you there best OTD deal the first time if they want a shot at selling you a car.

Weak US dollar vs strong Korean WON. Also, the 09s also pack more tech and major improvements.

I don't expect them to lower the price because it's a much better car now.

While you are right about the value of our Money, I see some nice changes

in the 09, but what really makes it a much better Car? I have few if any complaints

with the 06. You can get a GPS for $99 now, and I use the built in 5 GB hard drive

for all my Audio needs (6 Data CD's). I love the look of the Car, and the

performance is tight. More HP than my Turbo Subaru, or my 100 HP Turbo Colt, or

my Dodge Challenger oe Charger. I would like that plain Jane new Challenger with

the 3.5 250HP Motor. Then I just would stick on the Hemi badge. But it would

come with no ABS, or EBD, or TCS, and I think it has Crank Windows and no A/C.

No I'll stick with the ancient Sonata. Still a very modern looking Car, and it does turn heads!

They always mention this "vunderbar" (German accent, please) www.fitzmall.com, a dealer down in Clearwater, FL.

It's definitely worth to check, even if only as pressure on your local guy.... Otherwise, hey, you take a vacation down there, and come back driving your new Sonata....

Thanks OP! I'm looking to buy so yeah want to get some pricing. Websites are listing $22,423 invoice for Limited I4 w/o navi, so the price you mentioned I think is higher.

I looked at an 09 V6 Limited without Nav and was quoted $23,666 (invoice) before the $2000 rebate! Makes it $21,666 That was before any real wheelin' & dealin" Your deal may be a bit high?!?!?! We have to add about $1400 tax, title and doc. fees. after that.

I think you're better off with the rebate and finding your own financing. At least on a car this cheap.

Interesting...what city and state are you in?

My dealer-quoted invoice is around $200 more than what's found on sites like edmunds, maybe extra for a S. Cal. dealer.

I'm willing to wait, though. With the current auto market and fuel prices, I think we'll see better deals coming down the pipeline in the near future.

I just got my Sonata Limited V6 without nav for $23,577 OTD. That included 6% PA sales tax and all paperwork.

That is the exact Edmunds TMV price. A lot of Money considering Edmunds

has the Sonata listed as #9 of the Top 10 Cars With the Worst Residual Value for

2008
