Hello all I drive a 2001 Saturn SL1 and the car has been super reliable over the 70,000 miles that were put on it (too bad the Astra is too expensive or i would jump on it for my new car :P ). I'm heading off to college soon and am looking for a good commuter car that doesnt cheat me out on features as well as styling, and the Elantra seems to fit that. Albeit ive had to live with crank windows and manuel locks, but when I get rid of my car Ill sure miss the polymer panels (saved me alot of body work!). Anyway, ive seen about ~5 4th gen elantras avertised online used with all less than 20K on the clock. They all have a sunroof from what I can see, which means they are the fully loaded GLS models. They are priced 13995 and im sure I can shave off another thousand, but what I want to know is how much better of a deal is this compared to buying the same car brand new? Is it worth the cost? I only want some money left over for alloys and new tires, my budget is 15K. Thanks for your help :)

Honestly, I would go for new. You could get a GLS with the A/C, cruise and fog lights, etc probably out the door for $14,000. They have a great rebate now. 99% of those used Elantra's were previous rentals, you have no idea how they were treated. Hertz and Avis are right around the corner from me and most of the rentals I see have sunroofs as well.
