I have a 2008 SE and the factory sub is crap. I want to replace it with something better. I searched and did not find anything explicitly similar, but if there is something already out there please point me in the right direction.

I know:

The factory sub is 8"

You can fit up to 10" with some modifications

I don't know:

The wattage output from the factory amp, plus any other important electrical info (ohms)

If I could pull the sub out, replace it with another, and hook up the factory wiring to the new sub and be fine.

Or does the factory sub sound like crap because of the garbage the factory amp is sending to it and replacing it and connecting a new sub would be pointless.



If anyone has done this and kept the factory HU, please chime in :)

Not sure but I agree, the sub can't take all the base from good songs, but they are ok overall. I would like to replace mine to. The only concern I have is the vibration on the base. I think it sucks when the cover vibrates, what can I do to stop that?
