My 97' Elantra has been idling rough lately. The vibrations intensify when I turn on the headlights (especially the high beams).

I know the problem isn't the spark plugs or plug wires. I added some Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner to my gas tank thinking the injectors might be getting clogged, but the problem still remains.

Any ideas?

If the vibration gets worse when you use your headlights/highbeams it sounds like your alternator is struggling to keep juice to your battery and slowing your belt down, sounds like your alternator is junk. I'm not a master mechanic that's just my opinion
