Hi folks,

Odd little question for all you i10 owners out there...

The "audible lights-on warning" sound you get when you leave your lights on & open your door...

Does this feature work on your i10 ??? and if so, what model do you have!?

Well, we have a Comfort model (the middle in the range of three) and ours doesn't seem to have this feature.

It's clearly displayed in the brochure that ALL THREE models should have it (as you would expect) but our dealer (and apparently Hyundai themselves!?) are trying to claim that:

-Classic (the basic model) - DOES have it
-Comfort (our model, the middle one) - DOESN'T have it
-Style (top model) - DOESN'T have it

...and that the brochure is a mistake! How mad is that!? However...

If we leave our FOG lights on, the audible warning DOES work. Just not if you leave your main lights on. All rather odd?

Any ideas?

If you leave your lights on they will go off when you take out the ignition key.

Hi mick,

Thanks for the reply.

It would make sense that the Comfort & Style models have the "auto-lights-off" feature you describe, and it does indeed seem to be the case on ours. I suppose this feature makes the audible warning somewhat redundant (although you do still get the audible warning if you leave your fog lights on).

However, if that is the case (and it seems almost certainly so) then the brochure is definitely wrong (unless it's been updated since), but more frustrastingly... why couldn't our dealer tell us this? They even referred the matter to Hyundai Technical Dept and after several weeks the answer came back as "brochure mistake". No mention whatsoever of the auto-lights-off feature!

Ah well. I suppose if you want to know the answer to anything these days you just ask around on a public internet forum. Why waste your time going directly to source?

:P

Your welcome. I asked my dealer about the lights and they told me straight away.

Hi, on my Classic I get an audible beeping if I leave my lights on and open the door. If I take out my key and shut the door without turning the lights off, the lights will stay on.

Hi Ross,
Yes, it would appear that...

CLASSIC = audible beeping warning noise if you leave your lights on
COMFORT = no warning beep (except for fog lights), but lights will auto switch off when you take your key out
STYLE = same as comfort

The details we have in our brochure are wrong (it says warning beep for all 3 models, and doesn't mention auto-off feature at all) but may well have been updated by now, as we've had it since March. Cheers.
