My A/C went out 1.5 weeks ago. I can turn the knob and it may come on briefly if I get it to the right spot. Last week I took to dealer to have it looked at and they said that the blower motor switch was faulty. This was AFTER I had the 60000 mile service (car has over 100K miles but that's beside the point). They ordered the part and it should be in this week. My question is, how do I install the thing myself so I can save a couple of $$$ so I can put gas in it to drive to work? I checked for a Haynes manual but they only go up to 2001 (reading that it is really 2000 model year). I was going to sign up for www.chiltondiy.com but not certain they would have the info for the 2002 Elantra. I also looked on the www.hmaservice.com site and I can not find it there either. I may be looking in the wrong place on that site though. Please help. Thank you in Advance.

Can someone please offer some advice? The part number is PN 97260-2D000. Do I have to take off the dash?

Just a little bit of it. Go to hmaservice.com and register you can find instructions there. only pays .4 so it shouldn't take you more than an hour

Dear dx,

Yes, do this work yourself unless you love the dealer. Removing the dash is tedious but not difficult. Do remember that if the face plate or other parts are not feeling loose after you remove the screws and clips, you missed a screw somewhere.
