Here's a picture of 4.6 model in Korea. I believe a Hyundai employee drove this around since they are not selling this model there.

Check out the 8th picture. The parking brake is gone. It seems they'll use the auto parking brake.

Fantastic! I love those wheels, haven't seen those before. Agreed - the fire extinguisher does not inspire confidence.

This Genesis actually has an electronic parking brake similar to what VW/Audi, BMW, etc. use. The switch for this is located to the left of the steering wheel (it's the big button on the bottom right-hand side). If it was a foot-operated brake it would be visible above the dead pedal.

Electronic parking brake:

Different angle, but you can clearly see the foot-actuated parking brake next to the hood release in this Genesis:

I could have sworn I read somewhere that it was an electronic parking brake that was actuated automatically whenever the car was put in park. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Maybe the floor model is korean-spec only ?

That is a definite possibility. Based on the pics though, it seems that the Canadian-market Genesis is getting more feature content (including the electronic parking brake). Just look at all the buttons on the dash (especially left of the steering wheel) compared to our Genesis

I found this pic - not sure what model or country but it gives a good idea of what most of the buttons/levers are for. You can see the brake release so on this one it's definitely electronic ... but any ideas on the Auto Hold ? I could see it was a stick then the auto hold could be used when trying to take off on a steep incline. If that's even what it does.

I'm 99% sure it does pretty much exactly what you said. On steep inclines it prevents the car from rolling back before you step on the gas. Many news cars are getting this feature, even those who automatic transmission. One example that comes to mind is the new Pilot.

Thanks for the pic BTW! I also see a power folding mirror button. I wish this was standard on all models. I park in a very narrow space next to a metal support post at work and have managed to whack my mirror on the passenger side a couple times over the years. Power-folding mirrors are a big deal for me! :P
