 Removing Particle Filter?

Say for example i removed the particle filter of my i30 1.6 diesel what would happen? Power loss? More smoke? would it damage the engine?
Any help is much appreciated

i30man,

You can't remove it - i30s in Australia don't have a particle filter. I enquired about the presence of one when talking to the service manager at our dealer. The only Hyundai that has one fitted that they have sold is the CRDi Santa Fe. It requires a different oil than the i30 because of this filter being present.

This information confirms the info Dazz was given from Hyundai.
