My brother liked my SF so much he was going to get an '08 until he learned from the salesman that there is no iPod jack. Another lost sale due to a silly omission...

Hi all,
here in the Uk is a company called Connects-2. If you google it you will find that they have usb interface modules that plug into the line-in of the CD changer.

cheers

If I am correct, that one connects to the antenna as a radio frequency doesnt it?

I would love a direct connection rather than fumbling through channels.

I had a FM converter put in my '07 SF. They work better then using the satellite's FM transmitter. Unless you want to spend $$$ for a new stereo, steering wheel button converter and installation. It goes into the OUTPUT jack off the satellite radio. Not the FM jack. That's for something else. I had one in my former Saturn for a few years. Much better then the other way. Need to have power to it and a switch. I had them put it in the upper dash compartment. That comes out with a few screws.
Not the best, but it works.
When the satellite is on the suction cup holder. I got some dishware drawer mesh. Its' a rubbery mesh cloth that protects the satellite radio bottom from scratching the dash. The rubbery material kinds of sticks to it, so it doesn't slide away.

MB, do you know the brand of your FM convertor? Does it go inline with your radio antenna? My satallite FM works well but the audio quality is lacking.

On a related matter, I have a post where I was wondering about having an antenna switch and either using the standard one on the roof or one local to the console that wouldn't be as affected by distant FM signals. The local one seems like a better idea for FM transmitters. Broadcasting a limited FM signal in the cabin and trying to receive it off the back of the roof seems like a major challenge. I can't even find dead frequencies,

Well I went and bought the connects2 usb interface, it does not fit the Tucson VDO head unit, it has a 8 pin DIN fitting, the head unit has a 8 pin mini ISO.

It was worth a try, my entire music collection would fit on a 2 Gig fash stick.

watto :(

I got a Motorola T505 handsfree and a blue tooth interface for the iPod, plays Music from iPod thru car speakers and can answer cell thru same speakers. easily transportable from car to car. no modifications to radio or iPod except BT device instead of cable.
