Bought new 2008 Accent GLS. I know that the factory recommends QS 5W30, but I've read that some of you recommend Mobile 1. Any updated thoughts?

Mobil 1 is a very good oil.

However, and I think this is all a matter of opinion, but as long as you keep it changed every 3000 miles, I don't really think brand or conventional vs. synthetic makes a difference. Not much anyway.

That's just my opinion though. Being as this is my first BRAND NEW car in a long time, I will probably feed it Mobil 1 for the rest of it's life, starting with the 1st oil change. Mobil 1 and a K&N oil filter. Just to be safe... lol. I want this car to last a very long time, because I have it financed for a very long time. :-/

Thanks. I've heard a lot of people are using Mobil 1. I think I'll consider it.

YOU just have to make sure to follow the recommended oil change interval.

Yah or go with AMSOIl and change yoru oil only ever 7,500 or 25,000 miles depends on the oil you go with. Save yourself a bunch of cash doing it and not voiding your warranty at all. Not to mention thier oil filters can run up to 25,000 miles as well before needign a change.
