I'm moving from the US to Canada and taking my Hyundai. Do you know what I have to do to adapt my 2008-2009 Sonata so that it conforms to Canadian law that says you must have daytime running lights?

Thanks,
tbell

My guess is you would need to buy the lights.

I'm not sure if you would be required to activate DRLs up there. I know its a legal requirement that cars sold there have to have them but I doubt they'd require transfers to have them, too. I'd contact the Candian DOT and see what they have to say about it before you jump on retrofitting.

This also works well, Dims the Highbeams to like 1/2 power.

Here is a picture them with the parking lights, and DRLS

And just DRLS

And the lights still work fine, when you turn the lights on, the DRLS turn off... I like em.

when importing a vehicle they have to get daytime running lights, and checked over for other Canadian requirements. Canadian Tire is the only service shop (that I am aware of) authorized to perform the checklist required for registering the vehicle in Canada

You may have to have some bumper modifications done as well.. though they would be minor.

Also, your radio has to be adjusted to accept 35+% Canadian Content which the government forces broadcasters to shove down the audience throats.

Kidding :) No adjustments needed.
