Hello all,

I want to install an aftermarket radio in my 07 Sante Fe. I'm worried that this will some how void my warranty (also bought an extended warranty).

Any advice would be appreciated. Also I would love to get some stereo recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!! :liebe011:

Your factory radio is covered under warranty for 3 years/36,000 miles. You should only lose that coverage for installing an aftermarket system & it shouldn't mess with the rest of your warranty.

I heard pretty much the same thing. I was told that as long as I didn't splice any of the wires and used a connector kit that it would not void my warranty and the new radio would not be covered under the warranty.

For the most part warranties cannot be "voided" by the mere presence of aftermarket parts or labour. The onus is on the manufacturer to honour each claim, unless there is reasonable evidence that the damage was caused by the aftermarket work.

Wire-splicing is tricky, especially with modern electronics. The beauty of using a model-specific wiring harness for your new sound system is that you've got somebody to sue when you crank up the volume and your left rear taillight bursts into flames
