Well as many of you know I a manager for Checkers. aka CSK. A few weeks ago a rep for the new E3 spark plug came in. He was very knowledgeable. As he was doing a crash course in training with me I kinda looked at him and said I dont know...... he said a HP gain of at least 2% and fuel gain of 5%. After the look he said I'll tell ya what. Email me and I will send you a free set of plugs. I was sitting here last week and sent him an email. The plugs came in and I installed them today (see pix). I just took it around the block and HOLY CRAP!!!
You know how the car has that crappy down shift from 2nd to 1st. Well I dint believe it but I thought I was in 1st. The car pulls so much harder thru the whole RPM band. There is defiantly a HP increase. I would say closer to 10hp. I can't wait to dyno test iit! I am interested in seeing it the MPG goes up. I will let you guys know.

*Note changing the plugs the v6 sonata is a pain in the ****!!! the intake manifold needs to come off and there are alot of wires and vacuum lines!

I am really amazed! here is the website! Any questions let me know.

I looked at the E3 website. It seems they claim to have reshaped the flame kernel to project deeper into the cylinder. You claim it works better than your previous plugs. How many miles did you have on your old plugs and what was their condition. Would any new plug have improved your car’s performance or are E3s really special? Forgive my skepticism but last year Pulstar plugs were the latest plug to add power and mileage to any car. I need to question if this is just another marketing scam. However I like your excitement and hope they do work. How much do they cost? Do they use platinum or iridium tips? Let us know how they feel in week.

I was skeptical as well and i would have never bought them. But being I got them for free I can tell they work in the performance field. I never heard of pulstar? The plugs are a standard copper plug :) e3.64 are the plugs that I used. at my store they cost $5.99 a plug My old plugs have 40k on them and they look just fine.

For $6 a plug, you really can’t get hurt. For giggles, the Pulstars I mentioned earlier cost about $25 per plug.

http://www.pulstarpulseplugs.com/default.asp?KID=3340

(They are supposed to produce 1,000,000 watts of power compared to 50 watts for a normal plug. Its got to be some trick, or compression of time.) People also claim great gains in mileage, but I suspect they were just due for a normal plug replacement. I’m happy to hear you like these E3s. Keep us posted. Thanks.

At first when I saw the post, I was like, o great the spammers have hit this board. Then I see its V33 and it mentioned the 1-2 shift (most spam ad aren't that specific), and I was relieved. But back to my point, I'm skeptical that those work, the mind can play a lot of tricks. But I do hope that they work. Lord knows that we are unloved by the aftermarket. You should definitely get a dyno run in. If these work, then imagine also doing an intake, and maybe some mufflers; that sounds like an awesome low-buck buildup. I hope to hit the strip sometime this summer so I might just do it. Maybe you've already done that build-up; I can't remember everyones mods. :P

Best of luck to you

I could see a couple horse, but unless something is majorly messed up with your original plugs, you ain't going to see much from them.

For $6/plug if I can get em up here, I might give them a shot though.
See if I can dyno test them mebbie, but then it becomes kinda costly.

Ya those pulse plugs are interesting at 25 bucks a pop u wont see getting them. I know the mind plays tricks but really the plugs helped out the car alot. I was just cruzin with the a/c on and passed someone with the power of it being off. LOL. I am not the type of person to fall for over the counter bull crap. **** I am the person everyone relies on to help them not screw them. But I honestly feel this is a great deal. There is most defiantly a power increase and it even makes my car sound more agressive at full throttle.... ummm..... But all my mods are listed in my garage. CAI is next. I'll keep you posted on the mileage i get with the new plugs. If you want to try them and can't get them in your area let me know. I have paypal and can send you some.

The only way you are really going to know is a pre/post dyno...on the same day no less.

Sorry, but there is no way you are going to see a 4-5 hp gain. Plugs just are just not that critical.

I have spent a lifetime building and tuning racing motorcycle motors and plugs just are not a problem. A solid NGK plus has been the best option for decades now.

It is hard to separate the mental aspect of positive (or negative) characteristics after some kind of mod (or major repair)...like..is that noise new??

But...for $36, it isnt a bad option. But, you could be looking at longevity issues. Who is the actual manufacturer...not retailer or marketer?

I've been considering a set of NGK's; their top of the line series is known as the "Iridium IX"
The part # for the v6 is "BKR5EIX-11"
I found a set (6) here for $45, double check that just to be sure. As F.Y.I; I had to put 2006 as the model year, the later years don't yield any results. If the plugs gain performance it would be nice, a few ponies for $45 ain't bad.

Well I am not just some kid throwing some plugs in my car hoping for the added power. I have been building and tunning cars for over 10 yrs now and if u threw these in and felt the difference you would be just as dumbfounded as me. I dint think plus made that big of a difference either. but I am thinking it again. As for longevity. E3 is the only plug that has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. we are the retailer E3 is the manufacture. Its only 36 bucks try them your self and someone else let me know! and here is a dyno test. http://www.stockcarracing.com/techarticles...ding/index.html

Those NGK's are the same as the car came with stock.

They made 2 horsepower on a race engine.
IMO, that doesn't really correllate to a street engine, especially since they said that they could use less advance on that engine.

So was it the spark plugs or re-tarding the advance that provided the power gains?

Neat to see a dyno, but it's a dyno that doesn't really help us out.
Might try some if I can find em in Canada, but not gonna kill myself looking for them.
